A letter to #AwardWapsi cadre!

Dear Members of #AwardWapsi cadre,

I sincerely appreciate your motive of showing fermentation towards the intolerance situation (whether really or remotely existing) in the country. It is your constitutional right to create this new trend with absolutely no doubt. It is indeed a creative way of inventing new form of national agitation. Good to go but not at ground level. I have below three incidental broad questions to you.

  1. Why were you unable to bring these awards out of your drawing rooms and raise your voice along with the chorus when the country was agitating against corruption?
  2. Were you dormant when there was a collective agitation towards increasing number of rape cases in the country?
  3. Have you been very busy in your own businesses in ambitioning for more awards when the real Dalits of across all parts of the country in all means have been suppressed and not given deserved rights since the first republic day of the country?

I have cautiously listed the three radically diverse national issues of the country among the plenty so that you cannot claim that it was a personal preference towards any national agitation in the country. If you feel that any of the above three issues is unimportant in comparing with the current religious commentaries, I personally doubt your reasoning behind the decision of following this #AwardWapsi trend.

However, if your prime objective is to curb the ruling party's attitude towards the religious sentiments or the freedom of religion of the people of this humongous country, you should not encourage this kind of practices which would eventually keep the fire ON amongst the people to disturb our national secular health with unforeseen consequences. If you claim that you aren't motivated by the opposition, you needn't have involved in disrespecting the nation rather could have involved in disrespecting the ruling party who owns the blame. Awards are mere tokens of recognitions. Do you mean in any way to discourage the talent recognitions by creating the trend of returning the awards owing to trivial national disturbance? Oops, you are right! It isn't trivial in your personal court. Are you okay to dilute the quality of presenting awards to the real talents in the offing after this kind of protest?

If you try to show off that you prioritize secularism than anything else in the country, would that mean that your secularism principle de-scope the balanced recognitions of oppressed societies who have been suffering in the country since the inception of constitution? Would that mean that 'Right to Religion' tops the list of all other rights of the Indian constitution? Would that mean that the irritation of Government's involvement to your kitchen in advising what to cook is a bigger problem than the Government unable to pass Lokpal bill in  the parliament or a GST or a revised land acquisition bill? Would that mean, 55% of Dalit population who belong to all religions (who are 17% of India's population according to 2011 census) are still living below the poverty line even after 68 years of independence, is still a lower priority to protest than the above one to claim intolerance?

In spite of POA (Preventions of Atrocities) Act 1989, in every 18 minutes a Dalit is targeted for a crime, 3 women raped every day,  13 murdered every week, 27 various atrocities happens across the country every day, 6 kidnapped every week. This could be an ideal case of intolerance rather than your religious intention.

I would also want to highlight that in any case, I am not supporting the ongoing activities which are polluting the secular air in the country and I whole heartedly share my condolence to the ruling party by being the silent observer or in some cases, the root cause bearer of the reported cases. But, I strictly do not welcome this style of agitation by returning the tokens of recognitions which isn't a good direction to the forthcoming generations from the reputed personalities of the country. Also, the incumbent Government is relatively better in marching towards the national growth indicators both economically and politically, so let us not stop the pace by encouraging this kind of motives on its take off.

It is democracy, you are absolutely allowed to step into the street and make some noise on what you dislike. Why don't you try this rather polarizing the issue to the extreme? Chronologically, polarization is meant for the politicians but the public. Nobody is having right to claim that the state of India is 'Intolerant' and create a false perception among people. Do you really want to condemn or call for a bigger consequence? This selective patriotism is going to lead us nowhere. So, please rethink before you return the next one or get the next one!

Thanks to #AnupamKher to organize a protest against the false #AwardWapsi noise.

Faithfully,

A random common Indian man named Gurucharan.

Shakuni, the Real Hero of Mahabharata!

Regardless of the versions of Mahabharatha, the only Character or personality I admire in the humongous mythological epic is Shakuni. The entire epic is a brainchild of this witty Gentleman. Although, Mahabharata was a war of siblings which led to the sacrifice of plenty of lives in Kurukshetra, essentially, it was a battle of strategies between Shakuni & Krishna. Both of them had played their cards in such a way to design the destiny of the epic. They have cautiously inscribed the every segment of the epic with their ingenious directions to their respective cadres.

Eventually, as Krishna was a God down to earth in that generation, he was thoroughly appreciated as the mastermind of the victory of Pandavas which was reasonably untrue. He was indeed the strategic advisor of Pandavas throughout the war since its infancy with an objective that Pandavas to win the biggest mythological battle. But, his counterpart, Shakuni was surprisingly having the same objective with a different dimension that the dynasty of Kauravas should be destroyed. Incidentally, he was playing the role of betrayal to his own cadre by creating a false faith on him with his wicked & sly nature which is strategically impeccable. Lord Krishna was equally crafty in his moves to take his folks towards the journey of victory. Surprisingly, both of these masterminds had the same objective and the rest of the people who had been involved in the epic were singing to the tunes of these two inadvertently. Hence, it was actually a one sided game with planned plots throughout inclined towards one team. Kauravas were thoroughly deceived by both the strategic decision makers.

According to one of the anecdotes of this historic epic, Shakuni was taking a revenge to demolish the dynasty of Kauravas. Here goes the story of conspiracy behind Shakuni's revenge towards the Kaurava clan.

Shakuni was actually Ghandhari's beloved brother. As per the astrological sign of Ghandhari, it was told that her first husband would die immediately after marrying her. So, she was married to a Goat and it was killed after the ceremony. This was a secret known only to Ghandhari's family which comprised totally 100 sons and she was the only daughter of King Subala, their dad.  Later on, King Subala got her married to Dhritharashtra who was visually challenged since birth yet king of Hastinapur, one of the powerful kingdom of the era. As her husband was blind, Ghandhari had intentionally blindfolded herself to ensure that she should not see the world which her Husband couldn't see.

Eventually, Dhritharashtra got to know about the secret of Ghandhari's first marriage and her astrological signs. He got pissed off as he was deceived with this fact. He had imprisoned everyone in Ghandhari's family including King Subala. Subala and his hundred sons were tortured and were poorly fed in the prison. They were slowly dying due to inadequate food and sanitation. Shakuni was the youngest of his hundred sons and wittiest also. Subala and his sons started feeding their food to Shakuni so that eventually he could at least survive. Subala had requested Dhritharashtra to free Shakuni alone out to ensure his clan survives. Dhritharashtra agreed after Ghandhari's request and finally freed Shakuni out of his prison. By the time, all of Shakuni's siblings expired and Subala was fighting with his last breath. Subala had asked Shakuni to take the revenge for Dhritharashtra's horrible act by demolishing his clan completely.  Shakuni had taken his dad's words in the death bed and had made them as the mission his life. It was also told that Subala had asked to use his thigh bone to make a magical dice which could be used to engender the most massive war of the era. He had told Shakuni that whatever he wish, the dice would display accordingly. It was the superpower given by Subala to Shakuni to facilitate his mission of declining Dhritharashtra's kinship. So, it was the driving factor behind Shakuni's story of revenge towards Kauravas as per the above storyline.

The absolute inference from the above finding substantiates my admiration of considering Shakuni as the Hero of the greatest mythological battle. I have recently read in an article that Krishna's strategies used in Mahabharatha are being discussed as case studies in few top business schools of the world. I would strongly recommend the strategies of Shakuni should also be studied to get a wholistic abundance of thought process behind the best strategies and tactics being used in the story of the biggest Indian battle.

If there wouldn't be Shakuni, there wouldn't be a decline for Kauravas!
If there wouldn't be Shakuni, there wouldn't be triumphant Pandavas!
If there wouldn't be Shakuni, there wouldn't be appreciation bows to Lord Krishna!
If there wouldn't be Shakuni, there wouldn't be 'BhagavathGeetha'!
If there wouldn't be Shakuni, there wouldn't be an epic called 'Mahabharata'!

Hence, I sincerely admire the real game changer, 'Shakuni Mamaji' out of plenty of characters of the epic because of his numerous instances of plots which were intentionally laid to ensure Krishna wins!

#BajrangiBhaijaan Movie review-

Well, it might look like a delayed review for a month old movie. I have just posted it after realizing that I have forgotten to tap on 'Post' button to this blog which has been resting down on my drafts list since 3 weeks. With this appended delay note, let me take you to the vision of this movie from my spectacle.

It was really a surprising experience for me and my wife when we happened to experience such a well-toned theme in a Salman bhai's movie after a long time as we hadn't glanced the review of the movie before landing on our theater seats. When the borders are burning and the tensions are riding high between the two nations in the real world, Kabir has brought an alternative universe in his reel world. Moreover, hitting the screens on an Eid with bubbled anticipations is indeed a bloated MTV roadies challenge for the #Bajrangi team. The reviews and the post movie talks have strengthened the bubble with granite pebbles by carrying such a timely national theme.

An adorable kid from Pakistan getting lost from her mother in her sibling land (India). An anonymous guy from India takes her back to her motherland. This is the skeleton of the story which has a beautiful national cosmetics affiliated to it. The lovely looking orthodox Islamic kid is being brought back to Pakistan by an equally orthodox & innocent Hindu man who is an ardent devotee of Lord Hanuman. The concept of religion is appropriately coined in the screenplay by highlighting the fundamental motive of helping a co-human for any human being irrespective of the spiritual tag being carried over.

A lovely, calm and large hearted desi Hanuman devotee, Pavan kumar Chaturvedi (#Salmanbhai) and a Pakistani Kiddo Shahida aka Munni who is basically a dumb (although, expressed her emotions and messages in her charming expressions) together have delivered a fully packed massy feast of entertainment. Introducing Nawazuddin Siddiqui when the story steps into Pakistan and his cinematography tweaks simply amaze the audience. The emotion captured during the reunion moments at the end of the movie has witnessed many watered eyes in the theater though hardly a realistic one. BGM has definitely been a promising fragrance of the theme throughout. Another good piece of work by Julius Packiam after Ek Tha Tiger &  Dhoom 3.

The quintessential secular message of the movie consolidates the very fact that the perception of both the countrymen towards each other is remotely true. It's just the regional and global politics play the game of the hatred between the sibling nations. Worth to watch twice by discarding few glitches including the presence of Kareena.

Thaanks Kabir & team - A good flick to commemorate for me & my wife throughout the life being the first one after our wedding bells !

8 Unnoticed things which our moms do for us !!

NCT Face off - Better to Switch off now

Recent Face off between the Delhi Lieutenant General, Najeeb Jung and the Honorable Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, on administrative lines of National Capital Territory (NCT) region (NCT) has been creating significant hits in print and digital media. It is undoubtedly not a healthy sign for the progressing Delhi development Projects in the pipeline. On the other hand, it is imperative that full statehood is mandatory for a Government at National Capital which has no political  nexus either with BJP or with Congress. Absolute evaluation of the Government would make sense only if the contemporary Government enjoys more than 75% of the statehood power in administration and policy executions which is typically not the current scenario.

Pertaining to the case of appointment of higher Bureaucratic officers  of Delhi, Articles 239AA & 239AB introduced by Constitutional amendment in 1991 come to investigation process. According to those articles, as far as Delhi is concerned, “There shall be a Council of Ministers...in the Legislative Assembly, with the Chief Minister at the Head to aid and advise the Lieutenant Governor in the exercise of his functions in relation to matters with respect to which the Legislative Assembly has power to make laws, except in so far as he is, or under any law, required to act in his discretion”.  Hence, it is quite obvious that there is no “aid & advice” involved in appointing the acting Chief Secretary Ms. Shakuntala Gamlin. This is the crux behind the tussle between the CM and the LG of Delhi. If the same case repeats for the appointment of other higher bureaucratic officials to ensure that the Central Government keeps a grip on forthcoming development plans, the independence of the Government functioning goes for a toss.

Escalation of this issue by the ruling Aam Aadhmi Party to the superior Government, which is its ideal duty, has been projected by domestic Media house as an abysmal move to ensure to catch the ample eyeballs of the audience. However, the directional change by the Home Ministry of Bharatiya Janata Party by inclining towards the side of LG, brings in a rhetoric question of his sudden contrast stands against its proposal of separate statehood of Delhi in taking independent administrative decisions in late 1990’s. According to the Parliamentary standing committee in 2003, there was a bill drafted by BJP in 1998 which demanded the very purpose in achieving Sovereignty of Delhi statehood. Now, the political stands of BJP has contrastingly drifted to the other side of the shore which is an expected behavior. It is absolutely pointless for AAP in continuing the agitation on this front which would lead nowhere other than politicizing the issue.

Nevertheless, the Delhi Government has to ensure the below progressive actions are implemented with no hindrances from LG and the apex Government which is definitely a herculean task considering the current political and administrative turf. Hence, it is better that the Government switch off the lasting scuffle and focus on the productive road-map.
